Welcome to the Research Website of Dr. Dipankar Bain. My research focuses on synthesizing and studying fluorescent metal nanoclusters (NCs). These MNCs bridge the gap between individual metal atoms and plasmonic nanoparticles, making them precise nanomaterials. During my doctoral research, I synthesized metal nanoclusters (Au, Ag, Cu, and their alloys), explored their optical properties, and designed hybrid systems for energy transfer, electron transfer, and sensing applications. In my postdoctoral research, I designed atomically precise nanoclusters, developed surface functionalization strategies, explored therapeutic applications, studied reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation by nanoclusters, and investigated the nonlinear optical properties of copper-cysteine nanoparticles. Currently, I'm working on the surface modification, separation, and thermoelectric properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT).
