Dr. Dipankar Bain

Dr. Dipankar Bain is currently working as National Post Doctoral Fellowship (NPDF) at the Department of Chemistry, IIT Kharagpur. His current research focuses on the development and functionalization of atomically precise nanoclusters and their spectroscopic investigation. Previously he worked at Yonsei University,  on the surface modification, separation, and thermoelectric properties of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNT). Dr. Bain was a Postdoctoral Researcher at CNRS (iLM Lyon-University Claude Bernard Lyon 1) for one year, where he worked on mass spectrometry and nonlinear optical properties of luminescent nanoclusters. Before that, Dr. Bain worked as a Research Associate (RA-I&II) at INST Mohali and IACS Kolkata. Dr. Bain received his Ph.D. degree from the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) in Kolkata, India in 2019 and his doctoral thesis was on “Fluorescent Metal Nanoclusters Synthesis Photophysical Properties and Applications”. Before his doctoral studies, he earned his Master's and Bachelor's in Science from IIT Guwahati and Kalyani University, respectively.
